Subject:The First Real Entry
Posted by:closetwhore.
Time:8:31 pm.
Mood: thoughtful.
Hey all in this wonderful little community. I'm in a rush to write so here I go, in my first real entry in this thing.

Lately, I've been thinking about music, rock stars and the like. How incredible would it be, to be able to share your music with people everywhere? I'm such a daydreamer, and I can't grasp that concept thoroughly in my head. It's absolutely incredible. I read blogs from my favorite bands and its just amazing. When I do so, I definitely feel connected to them in a way ya know? But then, I just have that weird feeling in me thats saying to me, wow, they're doing what they love I want to be apart of that.

I'm not saying that I'm an aspiring musician, I'm not really, but I love music. It's my life, it's my passion and it's something that I love to perform. I have friends that are aspiring music as a career and I support them like no other. It's a crazy thought when they do shows in front of strangers, but it's such a good feeling at the same time.

Yeah, I guess this sort of random rambling thoughts that I wanted to share. But music is just awesome, especially when it strikes the heart.

Thats it for now =] Thanx for reading!

I just picked up the most recent New Found Glory CD - "Catalyst" and I must say it's quite enjoyable. I will never be fully into because of that boy's damn voice but it's still a kickass CD.

My favorite song is track 11 - "Atleast I'm Known For Something"
excellent guitar. rock me hardcore.

Anyone else buy any kickass CD's lately?

I am a bastard

I return to check on my community and I have two people wanting to join (so I sent them invitations and I am talking to coojackson and oldyellowlaces...just so you know) and two people who had requested to join and I accepted them.

Yall also listed three bands that were not on our interest list and I assure you all those bands rock but my memory does not. So I quickly added them to the list. Any more bands that I should put on (hey, and it's cool if they are no name bands or even your own. we're just cool like that)

Don't be afraid to discuss and talk about any of your recent concert experiences or new bands to check out.

I'll be in touch

BTW - i highly highly recommend you check out my current music. great great song.

You guys are missing bands like The Starting Line, and Finch
in your interests thing. Is it because you don't like them?
or haven't heard of them?.. This seems like a good community, small, but I would love to join!

New member. Yes lovely indeed. You should check it out Cool girl/people, definitely not ordinary and that's what we like to see.

Anyways, no new bands to bring up though I have some on stand-by to share but I will do that sometime in the future.

So a few more changes I have made to this site. When looking at the interests I came to the conclusion that my musical interests span much more than emo and punk (those they happen to me my most frequent listens) I listen to stuff like Jason Mraz and Coldplay as well...then I realized holy fuckin a, my music collection is the red headed step child and really doesn't have an order at all.

So I made this more free for all and majority about recommending songs or bands. No boundaries to what type of band because I didn't feel like categorizing this community because I really couldn't categorize my own taste.

And that's where we stand now. And for anybody joining or will be joining or reading this, feel free to suggest bands to be added to the interests list (though I won't be adding them if the band sucks - screamo and death metal don't actually float my boat and are borderline crap...no offense)

That's the update...yea.

Subject:"and she said that I was the brightest little firefly in her jar"
Posted by:kasidy.
Time:2:31 pm.
Probably one of the best bands I have seen from Atlanta in a while and very well deserving of a listen is a band called Copeland. Though they are labeled at purevolume as alternative/indie (which I give them that much because they have a pretty unique sound) I still always put them in the emo genre simply because most of their songs are extremely emotion filled (though not many are about some girl breaking their heart) but, aside from that point, I promise you won't be disappointed. There is not any screaming (now that's a vocal technique that some bands take way too far) but in almost every song the lead vocals hits this wicked awesome high note multiple times that made me shiver the first time I heard it.

So if you want to hear what made me drop my jaw then my recommended listening is "That Awful Memory of Yours"
That's the song that locked me in on them. And you will be enchanted by it, promise.

Then for a beautiful ballad song hit up "Priceless".

If you like (or for that matter don't like. We are a pretty open-minded music community) pleased respond to this post with your own prettily packaged review.

You know recruitment for this community is terribly hard and frustrating. Too many emo kids seem young and waaaay too into taking online tests that require them to put up a colorful picture/banner in every entry...I can't get those people here to talk about the music with all that shitty clutter...

An image and a new color scheme. I should be an interior designer.

For anybody who follows Brand New, the main image is Vinnie on the guitar. And for anyone who doesn't follow Brand New - Deja Entendu . Their latest CD. It's an amazing well put together album as far as creative music goes. Definitely a creative leap from their previous album. They take chances, and goddammit I like that.

Time:9:17 pm.
This is just started for other punk fans to connect and share new music they have found and share anything at all that is music related or not for that matter. First off:

Badass site for any sort of punk fan is purevolume.com It has top ten signed AND unsigned bands of the genre and has music for every band. It's a great place to listen to music that hasn't gotten big yet and that it still in the growing process. Also a good place to find music on newly signed bands. You'll find most of the drive-thru records family there (this site's namesake)

Two bands that rock hardcord and that you should get into if you haven't - The Early November and Brand New

Give it a try dammit
